Weekend summary

This weekend had some unplanned things happen, which is pretty typical around here. Like I said before, we like to "fly by the seat of our pants" most of the time-I think some family of ours probably get sick of not knowing what we're doing from day to day, but that's the way this family seems to function alot of times. And that's okay with us, it is much less stressful for us and the kids that way, but I suppose it can be a bit of a letdown at times.
The "plan" was to pretty much work on the drywall as we had help available from a friend the whole weekend. If that plan fell through, we were invited to a super bowl party Sunday night, kids and all at the Frost's(Tammy Wunder). So yesterday, Paul and our friend finished the whole ceiling! Today there wasn't any extra help with the drywall, I helped, which was fine- just tricky with a toddler. I would go out, help lift a 12 foot sheet to saw horses and come back in. I'm pretty good at crawling through a window these days! Then Paul would cut it and I'd go back out and help him hang and screw it in. It's exciting to see it become a real part of our house. Each step gets us closer to the finish line! So then we quit to get ready for the party. I made this very time intensive crab dip to bring and popped it in the oven and we all had some soup for supper. We'll that dip only had to cook for 25 minutes and by then all the plans had changed. Tayton turned really cranky and whiney after he ate and we knew it would just be a nightmare to try and deal with it at a home that is far from childproof. Tammy's kids are grown, one is in college in fact and one graduates this year. So while I longed for a fun "friend" evening, it was nice to stay home too.
Another unexpected thing happened Friday night- we got about eight inches of snow! It was great! Course the last two days were extremely windy so it was not something you could enjoy outside. The kids played outside yesterday for about a half hour and two mitten changes and that was about all they could take. We actually had grass in our yard prior to Friday!
Well, it's about time for me to crawl through the window again and all the kids are tucked in asleep. Only two more sheets and we have a long wall done. Good night!
