A Simple Luxury

My linen closet is filled with treasures. Oh, it has sheets, pillowcases, blankets, baby bibs, oodles of candles, kitchen towels, and that's all good. But the treasure I'm talking about is this little corner of new. I have been blessed with a nook to store handmade dishcloths that my mom knits for me. Most of my new ones are wrapped with a ribbon or string and when an old one is past its glory days, I unwrap a new.
I took one out today in fact, blue, white and light green. She knits them with love and probably doesn't realize what they mean to me. Or does she?

My Grandma Masta(mom's mom) used to crochet up a storm. She's been gone a long time, but her blankets are still like new. For a gift, I bought some blue yarn and asked her to make a blanket for my dad. My mom also had a blanket made for our living room. She even taught me how to crochet and long ago I made a blanket for my sweetie while he was at college. We still have it and the neat thing about knitted things is that they never fade! Neither does the love.

So Mom, if you are reading this, I'm getting a little low in my nook and would love some more if you have the time. And thank you for this little luxury I have from you!

Hey Gigi,
I think Tia's right, if you're not logged in, then you can't post or create to your dashboard. I suppose it's been quite some time since you have had to log on- do you have your password written down? Glad to have you back online! I am going to have to ask Joy what blanket you made, was it cream? She has a cream one on her couch. We love afgans so if you feel the urge, we'd take one for sure! The kids still use the blanket/quilt you made for Tyler when he was a baby- it's holding up nicely. I love you!
