Makes me wonder
I don't get sick very often, maybe twice a year and it's usually a doosey- like the stomach flu or bronchitus- but lately I have been getting sick with everything. It started a week and a half ago, the kids were gone to camp and I had a very sore throat and neck glands. Then the next day, I woke up to my eyes sealed shut- that continued for a couple days and then I went in to the dr. They tested me for strep, it was negative, but I had pinkeye in both eyes. This was the same Monday- when my dad's back went out, and Nathan had problems. So I got medicine, and it's cleared up. The weird thing is that none of the kids had anything weird and they weren't even around. But my throat hasn't cleared up much, and now my right neck gland hurts. So then this morning, I woke up with a bad case of vertigo- dizzy, nauseated, and a strong tendancy to stray off to the left side- weird. I prayed about it, and left for church confident that I would be fine. And I was. But what has me thinking that this is not a coincidence is the fact that these things have been happening to me on Sunday mornings or Saturday nights. It would be easy to get down about things and just say, oh, I think I'll stay home. I love the fact that I can pray about something as trivial as vertigo and God comes through for me. And that there is victory in prayer. My dad got word Friday from the back specialist that he won't need surgery and while he feels like he's taking one step forward and two back, he's recovering and has come a long way in less than a week. My mom is getting therapy to learn how to go up stairs. If she continues to improve, she'll be able to go home soon. God is faithful!
