The facts

Finally had a few moments to jot something down here today. I miss the kids. The nice thing about Lake Ellen is that they do have a website and I can email them everyday, but they can't email back. On the website they post pictures during the week so I've seen a pic of both of them. Katia looked sort of sad, but that was the first day so maybe it was more shyness than anything else. Six more girls will join her dorm today making a total of eight for the rest of the week. So today I tried to email them and their server gave an internal error. Maybe later it will be back up.

Our fourth was productive. I went and had lunch at the nursing home with mom and took her out for a walk in the wheelchair. She came alive! She had been crying the day before and wanted to go home so I was glad she was feeling better. Then in the afternoon I started priming the walls of the kids' room. I'm going to try and get it all painted before they come home for a surprise for Katia. It will be her room eventually and she has had this vision of a bedroom with butterflies and other "wild" things, but butterflies and dragonflies will have to do for now. I'm sure Tyler won't be too thrilled to have this new paint scheme, but hopefully he won't have to look at it too long. I can't wait to see her face.

We stayed home last night and watched the Boston fireworks. Wow! I would love to see them in person someday! They have them run with music and a theme with each song. It was so cool and every firework was done in triplets so it would light up the whole sky! Our neighbors lit off fireworks till 1am and woke up Tayton, that was a bummer and he was restless all night. So I'm tired today, but he took a three hour nap! I should've snoozed for a while too.

Paul and I went fishing the other night in the canoe. I caught a small bass right away and he did also about twenty minutes later. That was about it though. We saw a boat near us that had a stringer on it with at least eight large bass- we drooled! I am so looking forward to eating some bass, it's our favorite. I even prayed that we would catch some...oh well. Patience!

Ooh, I guess cubscout camp is great! I went to girl scout camp also as a kid and it was great fun except being MADE to learn to swim- I never liked that much. I swam fine on my own little dogpaddle! The kids had a great time at Lake Ellen- I thought Katia would get homesick and she didn't! She had a very sweet counselor and that sure does make all the difference. Have fun Andrew!
