I started doing aerobics again- this is my third week. I look forward to the stretching at the end. It feels good to know that you finished a workout and the stretching seems to put a cool air into your muscles. They say you can actually get taller, when you stretch your back especially. It seems I am shrinking, so taller is definately a good thing.
Then there's the stretching I don't like. I don't like stretching dollars to fill a menu. It's hard and stressful, but then there is something about getting a good deal and that part I like. There's just something good about doing the best you can with what you have. We had a potluck Sunday at church. What to make...I had chocolate chips and pecans, so decided I would make Kentucky Derby Pie. And my friend dropped off two dozen eggs because she was going on vacation so I made egg salad sandwiches for my main dish obligation. It was a potluck for our Word of Life Kids anyway, and what kid doesn't like egg salad!
Then there's the stretching of the human spirit that is hard too. Paul came to the potluck, kicking and screaming. If he feels that he has to come to church, then it's a real stretch for him to pull it off. If it's of his own accord, no problem. The day seemed to STRETCH ON!
And then to end yesterday with a final stretch of my faith, a stretching of cobbwebs inside my heart, a stretch that felt good like my muscles. I shared how Pastor Brady's prayers for my family's trip to Florida was life altering, how he had taken my dad under his wing many years ago and helped him to find something that God wanted for his life, how he married Paul and I, and how we always knew he cared, he loved everyone within the depths of his soul. How when he asked you how you were, he and Pearl stood and listened to the reply. They cared. And they looked into your eyes to see how you felt. They cared. They stretched their time, their faith beyond what most of us do. They impacted this community and so many others over this country, they stretched their arms, their hearts, their love, their prayers, everything they had to make a difference. And they did make a difference. Some people say they wish they could make a difference while on this earth- if we take their example, we all can learn a thing or two.

OH, thanks Grandma, I'll miss you all too! Wait till you see ole Shifter- what a cute little puppy and so playful! Watching him makes you just smile nonstop! Paul is back to his regular job, but after alot of thought, we decided together that he should quit the Fun Park. His full time employer doesn't allow employees to work outside of their place and so we have been taking a risk, foolishly and now just have to learn our lesson- God only disciplines his children;-) His injury could have been so much worse and he would've had to be off work so much longer so I just have believe that God will provide for us as he always does. Tayton is improving somewhat- he's sleeping better and we just stay away from foods that we know bother him. Sometimes weird things will pop up, we haven't heard back on the blood tests- they were sent out of state and take quite a while to process. So we're waiting on that. My Fire and Reign study met for the last time as a small group this past Sunday- sad. We have the big weekend ending the renewal next weekend. It consists of a prayer night, a dessert social and encouragement and message. It's during the big car show here, but as it all turns out- we aren't able to go anyway. I love you much!
