New position

I got to church yesterday and was greeted by some friends who told me that our family fellowship committee was dissolving. I had just recently joined the committee, it was something that was on my heart to join. Well, the chairs of the committee were scaling back on obligations at church. Okay... So I was just about to head down to the nursery with Tayton, when a couple people from the nominating committee approached me and asked me if I would be interested in being the Church Clerk. They explained some of the duties and I said absolutely! I feel so humbled to have been asked. So this starts with tonight's board meeting. I'm a little nervous about it, I mean, it seems like there should be some kind of training before I'm put into it, but apparently it's pretty self explanatory? I was amazed after I got home, how God moved me out of the family fellowship and made me available for this position. God, knowing that at this time of the year, I'm spread pretty thin, but he worked it all out! At our bible study last night, Marlene explained how she had been the clerk for quite some time, and her eyes welled up with tears as she told me how it was a good learning experience with how decisions are made within the church. I'm looking forward to the challenge.
Last week, Katia developed another ear infection. Her teacher called me Friday and I went and picked her up and brought her to the Dr. Her lungs were messed up, she apparently has asthmatic bronchitus and has to use an inhaler a couple times a day to clear it up. And she was put back on antibiotic for her ear and I asked to be referred to the Ear, Nose, Throat specialists. Our appt. is later this month. I personally think she is prime candidate for a tonsilectomy. It sure helped me when I was always sick in grade school. So we'll see.
We are having a beautiful spring! Not much rain yet, but our grass is greening already and our daffodils are about to open. It's supposed to get near seventy tomorrow! We've been working in the yard, mostly picking up sticks, there are tons this year! We also had a large part of our maple tree come down right next the addition last week during a day of super high winds. We were so glad it didn't hit the house. We discovered we have pussy willows in our back yard too. I love those! I remember classmates bringing them into school and wishing I had one of those trees so I could have my own endless supply! And our neighbor told us that we also have a small crop of asparagus growing too! Yippee!
Well, I better get on with this day. Have a good week!
