Wow, I like to be kept busy, but this past week has been a little extreme. Paul started working at the Fun Park Friday night. He went there after dinner at Dad and Joy's and the kids and I went home. About 9:30pm he called me, asked how things were going, I said "good, how are you?"
"Not so good, I'm in the ER."
"What?!, What happened?"
"A gocart fell on top of my arm and ankle from a chainfall."
The kids all asleep in bed, I was stuck. My dad and Joy went to the ER and eventually brought him home. The oncall orthopedic doctor said the bone was broke right off and at a 45 degree angle- they could do surgery, but he said we'll just let it go and see him in 10 days. Well we weren't happy with waiting that long. So we called and got the soonest appointment in Green Bay- Tuesday of this week.
Back track a bit, so Saturday the kids had a Christian Service at a couple elderly homes to clean up their yards. Paul was only allowed to get up to go the bathroom for the whole weekend. Okay, so let me simulate that for you. Picture taking a two year old, putting him a room full of cupboards full of toys, treats, suckers, etc. and say- "Now don't you move and don't touch anything." Well, keeping my husband down is alot like that. So then this Sunday was our church annual meeting. My first as church clerk and pretty important for me to be there. So I brought Paul and Tayton over to Dad and Joy's and they watched them for me:0) I was told by the past clerk that all I needed to do was take the minutes at the meeting. Umm...I guess that wasn't all. There was a vote to approve the budget- no ballots! I was so embarrassed, my face turning ten shades of red as I ran to the office to grab something. I overheard some bitties saying, "well Gina is the new clerk, where are the ballots?" Dee found the ballots and we were in business. I counted them with some others as the final count as I've known of City clerks, thank heavens! Good thing I used to watch City council meetings! Then I quickly jotted down the results on the minutes. I made it and learned alot that day!
So then after church, I had to go and get our dance revue tickets. This is quite the ordeal, let me tell you. I stood in line for four hours, had to miss my bible study, and Paul and the kids were still at Dad's. I felt horrible. It was a long day for them all.
Monday, was alright, normal daily routines with an extra person to serve, but I have been thinking of the weeks he took care of me while I was on bedrest with Katia and even though he gets grumpy, I know he appreciates it.
Tuesday was our appointment in Green Bay. It was a trick to find the place- parking the car three times at three different places before we finally found it. Paul is getting very sore from his crutches by now. Tayton didn't take a nap all day and gets to be quite the handful. The Dr. peeks in for about five minutes but gives us the answers I(and others) have been praying for- no surgery and he should be feeling better in about two weeks. What a huge blessing- from six to eight weeks to two weeks is about a thousand pounds off your shoulders.
Wednesday was Tayton's appointment with the new pediatrician. He's awesome! He spent alot of time getting the whole history and said that he was so impressed with how far we have come. He said I was doing everything right, that we had a great handle on getting him to sleep and that he thought Tayton has just learned to wake in the night because of his stomach pain and just needs to "unlearn" it. He gave me some advice on that. He's going to do a "rash" blood test on him today so that we will know exactly what sensitivities he has to foods so we'll know what exactly to stay clear of- why hasn't this been done!! I'm just very thankful for this doctor!
Paul talked to his bosses Wednesday too and he has enough vacation and sick time for this week. They were okay with him taking online training and his satellite classes next week so that will help. The GM training in Chicago that he missed this week will hopefully be offered again in the next three or six months. WOL is coming to an end soon for the kids- they are taking verse tests to achieve a Gold level and they can get $100 off Lake Ellen camp if they achieve it. Tyler got his last night and Katia has some more studying to do.
And today is Thursday already. I woke up about 2am to little T tugging at my arm to climb in bed. He seemed really burpy all night. I got him back to sleep without nursing. Well 6am, he threw up in our bed all over himself and me. Poor little guy. So I've accomplished two loads of laundry already and will hang our bedding on the clothesline. He's not feeling so good today...wonder what this day will hold.
My brother Nathan also needs prayer. He has a lump under his armpit and they aren't sure the cause. They are running some tests on him. I guess satan thinks he can try to shake the Holy spirit we are experiencing in our renewal, but we know who will succeed.
