There's a lot of that going on around here. I have decided that I didn't plant enough stuff in my garden. I was fertilizing last night and turning up the soil a bit and I think I may try to find some garlic and zuchinnis, hopefully it's not too late. My leeks are not growing much, but I have blossoms on two of my tomato plants and my cucumbers are growing quite a bit. The corn is only about four inches tall and seems to have slowed down. We had a ton of rain right after I planted my seeds and so I had all these little things growing that I wasn't sure were plants or weeds so last night I turned them under assuming they are weeds, hopefully.
Later this week, we're hoping to go to Pelligrini's and pick strawberries. I'm going to attempt to make jam this year, as well as just freezing some for toppings. I can't wait! I'm really looking forward to canning some dill pickles and some tomatoes too. My sister in law was telling me that you can can salsa too, so maybe I should try that, but I think I may need to plant a couple more tomato plants!
Tyler finally came home from fishing last night. He stayed an extra night with grandpa and his cousins. They sure had a good time and even had a fish fry Sunday with bluegill, large mouth bass, perch, and croppy. Even uncle Juan cooked some fish the Mexican way, with the whole fish fried. Tyler liked Juan's the best. Andrew, who is my stepbrother's son, won the fishing tournament amongst the kids. Grandpa had a tackle box with lures in it for the winner!
Katia is sick this morning, she threw up once and is super dizzy. I am hoping it's just a little case of vertigo or something, but we shall see. I felt under the weather last night too so maybe it's just a bug or something we ate. Looks like we'll be staying home again today and it's so nice out!
