Changes

Things are changing around here. We had rain today- the precipitation has changed from snow to rain- at least for a real tease of spring. For the first time in months, when I went outside to check the mail the other day, I felt the warmth of the sun against my legs. The bitter chill was gone and the buds on our trees have arrived. This winter really did go by fast and we were blessed with warmer than normal temps and thus lower heating bills.

Today was the day that the view of the room out my dining room window changed into the other side of our house! We cut the opening to the addition and can now really feel what this extra space will mean to us. There is still alot of work to be done, but we are rounding the bend for sure.

Tomorrow is week two of Fire and Reign, more changes I hope in this heart of mine. The first two weeks are really about getting to know your group, there are fourteen of us and many other groups that meet at other times and places with nearly the same amount. Tomorrow evening is a potluck. I was a bit nervous last week prior to the gathering because most of the people attending would be there with their spouses. Well as it turned out, Debbie Stiglitz and Sandy Pepin were also alone so I wasn't the odd one out.

Our family has been hit hard with recent viruses. It's been a bit of a downer to say the least. We've been stuck at home for the most part and when not here, I'm still trucking sick ones around to fulfill the obligations of extra activities of the "well" child. I know they are thankful though and making some of their dreams come true is what it's all about. And if it turns out that what they thought was a dream was really just a whim, then that's okay too cause they grow and change like everything else, season to season.
