Our weekend was goal oriented, relaxing, thankful, and all about making ends meet. Paul finished up the wiring in the addition and for the first time, we were able to turn some of the lights on! It was exciting! We put in some recessed lights so those we were able to put bulbs in, the others are blue box things that you use for attaching lighting fixtures to. We also put lighting in our eaves. It's very dark at night around here with only one street dusk to dawn light across the street. It's awesome to be able to see the woods at night with snow! We had the county inspector here yesterday and everything was approved with the building. Next is our electrical inspection which should hopefully be later this week. Then we'll be ready for insulation and drywall- we think!
Paul and the kids played on sleds in the yard Saturday. Then my 16 year old husband:0) took out the three wheeler and pulled Tyler around in his sled. He looks so goofy on that- just like he's 16 again! The kids like to get pulled around with it. Meanwhile, I watched the men's championship figure skating during the day and then Katia and I caught the ladies at night. The guys definately did more falling than the ladies- wow, it was unbelievable. I was glad to see that Matt Savoie made the U.S. team and was disappointed that Michelle Kwan bumped out Emily Hughes. That whole situation does not seem right at all.
Sunday was a great day. My whole family went to church which I always love. Enough said about that. We came home and I made baked chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Nothing fancy, but definately comfort food for a cold day. Then Kit Kat and I made no bakes while the boys watched football. I've been missing my Dad and Joy this past week. They went out to Seattle where it had rained for like 27 days straight and problems with mud slides are real. I'm sure they must be on their way home by now.
Mr. Tayton is still having some troubles. I hope it's just his molars coming in and not his tummy again. He starts like this when he's outgrown his Rx of prevacid and we're hoping to take him off it in the next month. He's been up every hour or two at night and having lots of...hmm....eloquent words are not coming to me for poopy diapers! He's eating well though and that's always nice to see.
The kids have Friday off from school. I'll have to come up with something cool to do for the day. Maybe ice skating at the sports complex. I rode around looking for an open outdoor rink yesterday and the City is not making any as of yet. We have talked about making our own rink in the yard. That would be great!
I'm looking forward to some beautiful snow this week. It's supposed to snow a little each day and we've had plenty of sun lately so not much of our snow is left. We have about four inches I would guess. That's about it for now- have a great week!
