Have you ever considered what you think peace is? I was thinking of it today as I lay my baby down for a nap. He fussed a bit and then PEACE. Peace in knowing that I was only in the other room. Peace in knowing that it was only for a short time that he would sleep and then be bounced back into my arms. I found a definition of peace and it was merely this: freedom from disturbance, calm. Peace is so many other things to me.
Peace is knowing that I'm doing the best I can, as I'm equipped as a Christian. I find that this peace can be stolen for a time if it's allowed to be sniped away, but you have to grab it back and claim it once again.
Peace is resting in assurance that all will be fine, that God is faithful in providing our needs and strength and that all we have to do is wait on him.
Peace is loving your family as they are, as God made them to be. Faults and all.
Peace is snow falling slowly to the earth. Peace is the quietness that the snow provides under our feet, our vehicles, and our breath.
Peace is smiling at those who hate you. Even if for a moment, you can feel peace.
Peace is our soldiers coming home from the war to a country that welcomes them with parades and flags, and hugs, and cheering. Peace is what they are fighting for. Peace is gripping their hands and thanking them for the peace we have.
And last, but not least Peace is this:
Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
