A week ago today, after writing on my blog- everything changed. I took a shower, got out and brushed my teeth and was looking in the mirror when I noticed that my smile was lopsided. Actually everything on my face on the left, was just limp. I couldn't blink to put on my mascara. I couldn't scrunch my nose. Two weeks prior, I had this weird tongue thing. I thought was initially was just a broken taste bud, my tongue went numb and remained so for over two weeks. And then as my dr is calling it, this "episode" happened. As the morning and early afternoon came, I made an errand to town and realized that I was really out of it. I felt like I was really drunk or under the influence of anything. Course I didn't realize anything was wrong with the rest of me till I was driving and just totally felt like I couldn't respond quickly if I needed to. So we came home right away.
The next day, I called my doctor. They wanted me to come in that morning, but I had that appt. in MQT for Tayton, whom I thought might have pnuemonia(he's good to go now:-). So we made the trip safely, I felt okay to drive, but my face was still limp. The next morning was my dr. appt and my doctor is having a bunch of tests done. The biggest today, I have an MRI. I had bloodwork, and an EKG last Friday and then this Friday will have an echocardiogram, and an ultrasound on my heart and neck. I would think the MRI would show everything, but my doctor tends to always over test for things. Other than being totally scatter brained and disorganized, I feel alright. My face is gradually getting better, the only thing I really notice now is that my eye doesn't squint in the sun, but I can make it blink now. I will find out all the results on the 20th, so I will post that then. I don't have much time to write much more now. Things sure do change.

Hey...is it safe to assume they've ruled out Bells Palsy? I'd ask about "Complicated Migraine" too, which you can have without a headache. I had similar symtoms a few years ago, which turned out to be hormonally triggered, when my progesterone was wacked out. Never would have thought...I had that same test work up because they thought I was having strokes. Actual treatment was so much easier. Will keep you in our prayers!

That's what I was hoping it was, the Bell's Palsy in a way cause that is supposed to go away in like three months even on it's own. But she said my eye would be drooping if it was that. I had the complex migraine thing downstate too- while I was driving-I couldn't talk, write, see- it was insane. I had a few of those and it was thought to also have been related to the bc pill. So I am not on that anymore. I hope it's just a hormone thing- I would guess she'd see that in the bloodwork so we'll see. The MRI went great- I am so thankful for that.
