Not much new around here. We had a salad supper last night at church for some newcomers at our church. The deaconnesses have been putting them on so that people get aquianted. It's a good thing, but it seems that sometimes, the "old" church people don't mingle with the "new" church people. So then what is the point? When I arrived, my mom(bless her heart) and aunt asked me and the kids to sit with them. While they are both sweet to offer, it kind of defeats the purpose. If we all stay in our same little circles, no one gets to know the new people. Course as it turned out, no new people sat at my table anyway! BECAUSE, everyone stayed in their little circles! Oh well, it was the thought that counts.
Last Friday and Saturday, Joy, Renee, and I had a rummage sale at my Dad's house in town. Remember how I had only sold 50 cents at the last rummage sale I tried to join in on? Well, this time, I sold $132 worth! And I had things pretty cheap- there was just a constant flow of people who alot of times bought armloads of clothing. And the kids together even sold $20 too. So that was great! While rummage sales are alot of work, it felt totally worth it when we were done. Having sales in town makes a huge difference. I even unloaded some of my Partylite products too. I still took gobs of stuff home, but it's all labeled for next year if we have another one.
I went down to Florida the end of May and spent some time with my Grandma. I was able to see my Aunt and Uncle and a long time school friend, Joanna too. I don't know if it's just me or not, but it seems that when you spend some time with people in their own places, you pick up on their habits. I never really got into breakfasts. It's just not my favorite meal of the day so most often, I don't eat breakfast. With the exception of Sunday mornings, Paul cooks us breakfasts then. It's not something I crave, but I do appreciate nontheless. Well, Grandma eat breakfast- Post Cranberry Morning:o) I ate with her and I really liked that cereal. So low and behold, I started eating breakfasts when I got home! I rarely miss it now. I found this great whole grain cranberry oatmeal recently and it's like a fix. On top of that, I sometimes crave breakfast for supper or lunch too. Paul and I went fishing together one morning while the kids were at camp. We stopped at the Delona on the way. I ordered their biscuits and gravy, which I've always liked, but have only made once at home. Oh my gosh, it was so perfect- the bisquits were just made so they were warm and dense and their gravy is to die for! It was soo good(cheap too) that the same week, we went back and I had it for supper!
The night I visited my friend Joanna, she made tacos. Tacos- not usually my thing- I preferred soft shells if I had to eat them. She had hard shell, but a white corn type. I think she said she bought them at Sav-A-Lot. They were really good! So good that I've been trying to find a similar shell and we have taco night every week! I managed to find a taco seasoning that doesn't have MSG and also doesn't have milk, which has in the past frustrated me into a different meal plan besides tacos. So these new things have had me wondering why they have established in our home. Maybe it's a subconscious way of holding on to a good memory? I don't know, but I do know that I'm happy when I eat these things.
Well, today has lots of things in store. Tyler will be going fishing with a buddy and then he'll sleep over, we're planning a trip the beach this morning and grocery shopping later. This afternoon, while Tayton naps, we'll watch a movie that we got from the library yesterday. It's the first Lord of the Rings. Since our old youth pastor watched the series, I'm assuming that they are okay for the kids, but I'll check it out at Dr. Dobson's website first. We'll have pork chops on the grill with hobo potatoes and maybe some corn on the cob for supper and then I'll go and work at church for a while tonight. Oh and I have a mound of laundry to get to in there somewhere too. My clothesline broke a week ago- fully loaded with clothes of course and I've not gotten a new one yet. Hopefully I can remember to grab one while we're at Walmart.
Till next time- God bless!

We love LOTR around here but we don't have Wheaton or Rowan watching them and Celia only rarely; never at night. Andrew has never had an issue with scary things but the other two will have bad dreams if they watch it before bed. Rowan we don't know about yet. There are some scary creatures in there and suspense, also intense sword warfare. Knowing something about your kids, I'd bet it's fine for Tyler; Kat may need to cover her eyes a bit.
Oh yeah, unfortunately we went ahead and started watching it yesterday afternoon and about 45 minutes into it, we had to turn it off. I think Tyler would be fine, but Kat was watching and she's gets scared over everything. I have to admit, I was startled by this character too. Low and behold, she was in our room last night. I've heard that the movie is really good though.
