We had a nice day here today. It was chilly- only about 45, but it was sunny and very little breeze. It's supposed to be a great weekend- 60's on Saturday. We have our annual church hayride at the Ostlund's Saturday evening so it should be great weather for a change. Usually it's so cold, that we have mittens, long johns, and chooks and we're all still huddled by the fire! We had decided that if it was going to be another cold or wet day for it, we would forgo it this year.
So I'll make some chili and brownies for that- we usually have a variety of different chilis and dogs to make chili dogs. We all eat in their barn- it's really fun! Our family fellowship group tries to plan some kind of outing each month and it's something the kids always look forward to. I should see if Dad and Joy want to come along since he was supposed to come in today. I think they would like it too.
The kids have two days off from school- today and tomorrow, so a nice long weekend. We had parent teacher conferences today- Paul went to Tyler's and I to Katia's. Both are doing great- it's always such a boost to hear how your kids are when they are away from you. To say they make us proud would be an understatement. Tyler got all A's and one B and Katia gets S's until next year I think. She needs to slow down on her writing and coloring a bit, but otherwise is doing fabulous. Her teacher said she was in their higher reading group. We were a bit worried about her cause she has many reversals with letters and numbers. I guess it's pretty typical though for first grade.
All the siding is done on the addition now. We can maybe start on some of the wiring this weekend if we're home long enough. I am getting anxious to move in now that it appears to be done! We have a long way to go though.
Joy said we'll be having Thanksgiving up at camp this year- we're all looking forward to that. For those that don't know, our family has a long standing tradition of having Thanksgiving dinner up at deer camp in Dad's tent. Grandma could tell us how long this has been going on. It's so awesome- Joy does the complete meal, bless her heart, and hauls it all up there. Sometimes we bring a side dish, but she really goes all out. We haven't had snow up there for Thanksgiving in a few years, but when it does snow, it just makes it all the prettier. I can remember going sledding there as a kid! We definately don't get the long winters like we used to. Someday, maybe Gigi can join us and refresh us all on what it was like back when she hunted back there.
Well, have a great weekend everyone!

Hello Grandma,
Well, Katia, Tayton, and I went to the hayride. Tyler caught this stomach flu and has been sick since Friday am. Then tonight after we got home, Katia got sick. I sure hope we all don't get this especially Tayton. The littlest ones get dehydrated so quickly. The hayride was nice. Joy said they had some yard work to do today. Michael and Pam were up and they came also. We had a beautiful day for it- it was 60 degrees there tonight. I'll talk to you later.
I'm sorry also to hear of your neighbors being ill. I will keep them in prayer- you just never know when God will perform a miracle!
