Well, Katia did just fine with her MRI's! Thank you for your prayers. Yesterday's 2, I stayed with her in the room, which I was grateful they let me. She looked like she wanted to cry just as they shut the door so I asked if someone could stay with her and they said I could if I wanted to. So those two were of her brain and neck. Today's were of the thoracic and spine and she said she could be in there all by herself! They had to put her all the way in, which she didn't like at all, but she stayed still and it's all behind her now. So I guess we just have to wait now- maybe a week to get them read by the radiology guru and then they send it on to Dr. Southern. So I'm thinking it might be like two weeks before we hear anything.
The kids didn't have school today- it was too cold so pretty much the whole U.P. was cancelled and just might be also tomorrow because it's supposed to be worse. I see the cold is all the way down to Florida! Saturday will be back up to normal here- about mid 20's:-) That seems warm to all of us after -30 wind chills.
Ice racing started two weeks ago. Paul has been doing pretty well considering some last minute problems with his cart. The first week he got first place in both races, and then last Sunday- he started his car at the track to warm up and oil was gushing out of it. He loaded it up and drove to his dad's to change the motor- quickly! Well, the motor he was going to use was in pieces so he had to race his dad's car Sunday, but he still won first place. His dad and cousin, Bob- took this year off from racing so it will be different without them all there. Bob's kids often came and played with our kids and there was always good competition with the two of them too. Bob is loaning us his heated trailer so at least we don't have to sit in the truck most of the time. That's really nice.
I've been walking the mall for a couple months. I've made it a committment since Tayton started preschool. I drop him off in the morning and then go and walk for about 35-45 minutes. It has been so nice- a real relief of normal stress. I don't have to feel guilty over not using a gym membership when my kids are sick or when life happens. But on most weeks, I'm able to walk at least three days. I'm one of the youngest people walking. That bothered me a bit- the older ones wouldn't even say hi to me, but would to the older lady walking behind me. Now, they are used to seeing me so most of them say good morning. It's just been kind of eye opening to see how prejudice people can be. Just because I'm in a different generation doesn't mean they should be rude. I've actually said hello and these three ladies just snubbed me! So I guess you get what you pay for!
I'm still having fun teasing Grandma.(I know you are reading this:-) We have a lot of laughs, I never realized how funny she is. I can see where my dad gets his sense of humor. She's vowed to not mention the whole Viva Viagra thing when she's introduced to someone:-) Paul about fell over when she said that at church and I didn't believe him when he told me she said it. She says she'll just say Viva papertowels instead. She got a perm this week at my hairdresser's. It looks really nice. And as of last week, before this artic front came- when she would go out- she would say, "it doesn't feel that cold today." So her blood has thickened up I think. Her back has been bothering her for about a week or so. I'm thinking she might need a new mattress or something. She says it hurts the most in the morning when she wakes up. She sure doesn't eat much- less than my four year old though. We have to work on that.
That's about it for now. She's always watching for blogs from everyone so keep 'em coming.
