I've been thinking about alot of things lately. Most don't have definitive answers, but they are things that seem to be stirring me up.
One this week for instance, when you are praying for something for years and you see little steps forward and then steps back- how do you keep praying about it without ever seeing the finish line- FAITH right?
When you upgrade to a new computer- how does one move programs from the old computer to the new one? Especially when the old one has a dead cd drive and floppy- can you hook up the two computers at the USB port much like a MP3 and transfer between the two? Wouldn't that be great??
When a "Christian" themed movie shows scenes that could embed visions of satan's demons in childrens brains- why is it okay? I don't think so. We shouldn't allow those things to be shown to our children- "be careful little eyes what you see"? My review- watch out for Prince Caspian.
My twelve year old knew enough to immediately to turn it off, thank goodness! The movie is still good, we just skip that part- but not as good, in my opinion, of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. What's weird to me, is that I was looking to buy this movie for Tyler at several stores before Christmas, and for various reasons- the cost, a weird feeling- I didn't buy it and I felt bad about it because I knew how much he wanted to see it. Now,I think those reasons weren't a coincidence. As it turned out, he got it from someone else.
The next movie review is of Cars- which I personally bought for Tayton. Unfortunately. It's cute, but they just have to inject so much terrible language in it- I don't want my four year old saying those things. Dang, Moron, idiot, Holy shoot- that last one really gets me. This movie is aimed at little kids whose pronounciations are still in progress so imagine that last one with a different vowel sound. Tayton was just recently mispronouncing Grandpa's dog "shifter"- no f in his version. :-) So back to the movie- it's rated "G"- all ages admitted. Shouldn't be a G- it totally should be rated PG.
I used to use Focus on the Family's website to check out their reviews of movies and books, but in checking it recently have found that they apparently don't do it anymore. So what is a mom to do? I guess in the future, I will really look at Pixar's movies with a lot more scrutiny before buying it. Our family loves Shrek as well, but it also has a couple little language choices that don't need to be there.
In December, while shopping or just being out in public in general, I was raw with emotion when I was constantly be faced with passerby's that were using Jesus' name. I was in Walgreen's one cold night, I was near the door about to leave, when a middle aged woman came in and cursed his name because she wasn't dressed warm enough apparently. I honestly hadn't ever been around anyone who said my savior's name with such hate- it made my spine stand like a cat. I was so shocked and appalled that I said nothing- Lord forgive me. I should have said, "yes, he even loves you."
Anyway, that's what's bugging me lately:-)
