I think we have finally turned a new page in the book of seasons here. The grass is getting green, my daffodils are getting tall, it's raining instead of snowing, I've raked half of the yard, people are squealing around our corner at high rates of speed, and our dog is in heat. Yup, I think spring has sprung.
And this week has been pure madness- "organized craziness" as some call it. Monday we had the usual dance routine. That night I had a board meeting and ironing for Paul's Grandma's funeral. That was Tuesday- all day. Mixed in there was the various running of the kids. Katia is in swimming lessons on Tuesdays and Thursday till May. By the time we finished the luncheon, I was sooo ready to get my heals off and get into comfy clothes. It started at 9am and we left the second church by five.
Wednesday and Thursday I had jury duty. I was selected this time- it was right in Escanaba, but a criminal case involving a breaking and entry. I was super tired each night and slept super good!
Today was a welcome return to our routine. Tayton's been at Joy's and my mom's this week and hasn't taken naps so he was extra gnarly each day, but went down early each night. I cleaned my house today and it felt good to get it done! Made supper at lunch because although we were back on track, I had to pick Katia up from school and get her all ready for her dance pictures this afternoon. I put rollers in her hair last night and put it all up before school so I only had to fix the fallen curls and put in her hair pieces. Tyler babysat for me for an hour at home and when I paid him $1.50, he said- "Mom, that's too much, it was super easy."
So then we all had supper and now I'm reveling in the fact that I even have time to write on my blog! I have taken for granted the relaxed days we have, for the most part. And I think Paul realized that it's not too convenient when Mom isn't available. There's the part about getting Katia either on the bus or to school. I brought her to my sister in laws each day and she then brought Katia to school for 8:30. I had to be at the courthouse for 7:45 both days. Then there's the part about letting the dog out a couple times a day and making sure someone is here for Tyler and Katia afterschool. Organized craziness. I'm thankful it was a short trial and that it's over. Course, the whole craziness starts back up again Sunday. It's our annual meeting- I have to speak at that regarding the budget and treasurer report, then we have a potluck. Oh, and the same day I'm supposed to get Katia's revue tickets too- so that will be done later on. Tyler has extra band practice this week and a concert on Thursday, Katia has a talent show on Tuesday, plus story number dance practice Friday and her regular dance on Monday, swimming Tuesday and Thursday, oh and then a ice racing banquet on Saturday! I am looking forward to next month- around the 16th- that's when we'll be golfing and relaxing and all the extracurriculars will be all done! I'll have a couple weeks off before VBS:-) Now I see why people have signs in their cars saying "mom's taxi".
