When you see Christ

I have often felt the Lord at work in my life. I've seen him use other people to bless us. I've heard his voice in the still moments and even in the shower. I've felt the Spirit in my body and our church. But I saw Christ last Wednesday.

Word of Life started back up a couple of weeks ago. I'm teaching the 5 & 6th grade girls again. We have a very large group of kids this year! It's exciting to have this opportunity and most of the kids are unchurched. Anyway, let's see if I can pull all this together. We ended our night and proceeded to go upstairs to leave. Tyler and Katia went on ahead of me while I turned off my classroom lights, etc. When I came up the stairs, Tyler and Katia were taking to Darren Kriegl. He's a married man about my age, maybe a little older and he's married to Beverly Frasier. They have two boys. If you don't know him, you are missing out. His family has been such a blessing to us. Picture Pastor Brady here for an accurate discription, picture a young Marv Mylander. As I approached, I noticed the animation in face, the love, the concern, the interest, in my children that Darren has. It's the pure kind of love and concern, not something you would wonder is real. There was a time that Katia had a solo and he was on call at the mill. He came in just to hear her sing! He has been Tyler's SS teacher for some time and Katia looks forward to the day that he is her teacher.
But at that moment when I came around the corner of the staircase, I saw Christ. I saw how Jesus was to children. If ever I have seen the face of Christ, it was at the precise moment. That's what we're all commanded in the bible, to reflect the light of Christ so that others may see. Paul is even drawn to Darren. There is something contagious about him. You've read that if you are living your life for God, others will want what you have. They'll want the hope and joy that you have.
So I keep thinking about this. Have you seen the face of Christ?
