We were enjoying seeing grass, the budding trees, hearing birds sing, but we all knew it was coming sooner or later and it chose sooner. We got twelve inches of snow just during the day yesterday, another 3 or 4 last night, and are supposed to get another seven today! You cannot even imagine the perfect beauty we have- untouched snow in most places, trees heavy with thick blankets of sparkly snow, and most people just plain stayed in their homes judging by their trackless driveways.
I was surprised in a way at the barren streets last night- we're yoopers and this is to be expected, not feared. Or maybe they were just enjoying staying in. I prefer to drive around and see it all myself. Course, I didn't get stuck in it either- then I'd be wishing I'd stayed home like the majority. :-)
So it's declared a snow day- the kids will play to their hearts content in it, Tayton the most thrilled to venture out, although he may just have a hard time getting around in that much since it's nearly half his size! I'm going out in a little bit to shovel cause we do have to go to town today. Paul snowblowed the majority last night, but the plow came through this morning and I likely can't get out of our driveway.
We're getting our puppy Wednesday or Thursday- I wrote a blog about the whole process the other day only to loose the entire thing- I'll have to do that later. We've bonded already cause I'm really missing her and am anxious to see her again. We all went to the breeders for a visit Saturday and I'll probably have to wait till tomorrow before we can visit again. It's like allowing a baby to be in the nursery at a hospital. You know they can get their basic needs met, but they don't get much love. So with my kids anyway, they roomed in with me the whole time. I can't wait to take her home! We've named her Phoebe, she's a tiny black maltese poodle cross otherwise known as a maltipoo. She'll be about 6 pounds full grown and non shedding.
Well I better get shoveling.
