Finally!

I've tried for weeks off and on to log in and post a blog and for whatever reason- I couldn't even log in! So here we go.

I have spring fever- I dusted top to bottom the whole house- ceiling to floor that is and whites and throw blankets are out on the line in the beautiful sunshine. The windows were open in the house and it smelled awesome! We have barely a covering of snow in some areas and mostly brown grass:-) This winter has been so mild compared to other places like New York! I think they got all our snow! While I never even was able to cross country ski- I'd take spring right about now. We're eager to get topsoil and bushes planted around the addition- there's sand around it now. I love this time of year, but I know we'll likely have a few snow storms in March yet.

Basketball is done- they lost their last game by one point to the team they went into overtime with. The kids and I went ice skating last Friday. The schools across the country have been doing this incentive of no TV, video games, computers, at all for a period of time, usually two weeks and then limiting watching times after that to 10 hours a week. The kids have always participated and done well- it's harder for me at night though when all my fav shows are on and Paul is out working in the garage. Dr. Dobson just recently had a segment on his radio program about video games that was right on target with what I've read and it just reiterated my stand against any type of video games for my kids. I'm glad to hear more people are figuring out it's dramatic effects. Tyler, has for a few years, wanted a gameboy and we've said no with understandable friction, but even after he heard this report from Dr. Dobson- he agreed that he'd rather be playing outstide than glued to a videogame.

Speaking of Tyler, he's going to be 11 tomorrow! We found a good deal on a portable basketball hoop for him- can't wait to see his face! I look at he and Tayton and try to envision when Tyler was that age. It's so hard to remember! Time sure does fly.

Paul has one more ice race this Sunday- he's done so well! He's won first place on most Sunday's and is leading in the points for first as well. He sure never thought his car would do that well. His dad races two cars and struggles to get third so we feel bad for him. The micro sprint that Paul drives is one of his dad's. It's been hard with Tayton at the races cause it's been so cold prior to this week. So most of our time was spent in the car watching the races. Four hours in a car with a toddler is not much fun, let me tell you. This week should be warm though so he'll likely get to play with Sissy and Tyler in the snow there.

I'm going to try again to post some pictures- hope it works! Take care everyone!
