It's been a while since I've posted. Not trying to kill the blog, just real life has taken over any "me" time of cyberland that I might get a few times a week. So what's up you ask, well let me explain.

Our new pressure mound is in. That took a whole week of bulldozing, excavating, and filling on the contractor's part and then lots of finishing work on our part with rock picking, grading, and planting grass and laying straw. It's all done finally- we all worked together on it and we are actually now getting some grass growing. During the week of excavation, the kids loved watching the metal dinosaurs work and keeping them inside wasn't such a bummer afterall. There's little of the yard that they have to play in now though, so much of it is baren with new grass. So they've been riding their bikes and this week, we've had daily trips to the park in town.
This week is band camp. Tyler got an alto sax afterall and is just loving it. It's so loud though- I really had no idea that a sax would sound like a car horn in the house! Needless to say, he loves to practice and mom has had a headache a few times this week. Camp ends tomorrow.
While he's been at the camp, Katia and Tayton and I walk at the park on the bike path. It's been just beautiful the past few mornings.
Paul's been in Chicago this week for GM school. They had a terrible storm tonight and a tornado even touched down there. I talked to him earlier tonight and he was in class when the storm hit so he really had no idea what happened. The kids and I prayed that he wasn't on the roads at the time. They had 70 mph winds and semis overturned. He was fine and had power when I talked to him, but then another storm hit later on.
It's been a long week without a break of any sort so I'm looking forward to Saturday! I don't know what I'll do, but you can bet I'll be kidless for at least an hour or two! Then I'll be refreshed again. It's funny, sometimes, just a trip the bread store or to wash my car is just the energizing I need to deal with my strongwilled Tayton again. He has been such a stinker lately- always testing how far he can go and really not giving a hoot if he's in trouble or not! He's a handful to say the least.
So life goes on. There's something about the beach that calms me though. I look forward to our mornings there and tomorrow we'll walk again and build sandcastles while we wait. It's been nice to just slow down and enjoy that solitude this week. It's been the best part of our day. Soon school will start and the leaves will fall and the times at the beach will be only a warm memory. So we've been enjoying it while we can anyway.

Hi Gigi!
Thomas the train- I ended up running out of time and had to buy one at Elmer's grocery. I asked if they had a milk free cake and of course they didn't- Tayton did alright though. Other than the pieces he snuck afterwards- he only had one piece and alot of handfuls of frosting!
